A teacher who walks the talk — and breathes it too.

[Placeholder bio — please personalize] Seventeen years ago, Anjana Vivek sat through her first Sudarshan Kriya and understood something no book had ever told her: peace is not a destination, it is a practice. That single breath became a calling. Today, as a Senior International Faculty member of the Art of Living Foundation, she has guided thousands of students — stressed professionals, restless students, searching parents, curious skeptics — back to the stillness they carry within.

[Placeholder — add her personal story] Her classrooms are known for two things: laughter and silence, in generous measure. Anjana believes ancient wisdom should feel as natural as a conversation over coffee — practical, warm, and immediately useful. Whether teaching in a city hall or over a video call across time zones, she brings the same conviction: everyone deserves to know how to be at ease with their own mind.

Step 1 · Begin

Happiness Program

Where the journey begins — with a single breath.

Three days, nine hours, one discovery: stress is optional. At the heart of this experiential course is Sudarshan Kriya, a rhythmic breathing technique that flushes out stress the way a monsoon washes the streets clean. Add in gentle yoga, guided meditation, and disarmingly honest group conversations, and you leave with something rare — tools that actually work on a Monday morning. Graduates enjoy free lifetime access to weekly practice groups.

  • 3 days · ~9 hours total
  • No prior experience needed
  • Lifetime follow-up sessions included

Advanced Meditation Program

The rarest luxury of our age: silence.

Also called the Silence Retreat, this immersive 3-day experience trades noise for depth. Through advanced breathing techniques and the signature “Hollow and Empty” guided meditations designed by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, sustained silence peels away layers of stress you didn't know you were carrying. Participants often say they arrive exhausted and leave lighter than they've felt in years.

  • 3 full days · residential-style schedule
  • Prerequisite: Happiness Program
  • Ages 18 and above

What Research Says

Sudarshan Kriya and Sahaj Samadhi Meditation are among the most studied breath and meditation practices in the world. Here is a brief, source-linked summary — not medical advice.

Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY)

Sudarshan Kriya has been studied as a treatment for stress, anxiety, and depression for over two decades. A neurophysiologic model and clinical guidelines published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found SKY effective for both clinical and non-clinical anxiety and depression, with improvements holding at six-month follow-up — suggesting the effect isn't simply a placebo response.

  • Lowers cortisol (the primary stress hormone) within weeks of regular practice
  • Raises prolactin, a hormone associated with feelings of wellbeing
  • A 2024 randomized clinical trial found SKY breathing reduced burnout symptoms among physicians
  • Other studies report reduced PTSD symptoms in war veterans and lower depression in incarcerated populations

Sahaj Samadhi Meditation

As a concentrative, mantra-based practice that is part of the Sudarshan Kriya Yoga program, Sahaj Samadhi has been studied using EEG (brain wave) recordings to understand what happens in the brain during deep meditation.

  • EEG studies show a marked rise in frontal theta-band activity during meditation, a pattern linked to deep relaxation and heightened attention
  • Meditators show greater theta coherence than non-meditators, suggesting lasting changes in attentional processing
  • Related rhythmic-breathing research links slow, regular breath patterns to measurable shifts in brain rhythms and deep relaxation states
